James Barone

Jamie Barone coaches at the famed North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC).  North Baltimore won the USA Swimming's 2010 Club Excellence Title. 

 Jamie is in charge of the Challenge 1 level and assists with the High Performance groups. Jamie works regularly with swimming star Michael Phelps, as well as other elite swimmers in the NBAC High Performance Group.

Prior to starting his coaching career, Jamie swam for Loyola College where he was team captain and set both MAAC conference and School records in the breaststroke events. Barone swam for NBAC was named the Rookie of the Meet at the USA National Championships.

He was a world ranked breaststroke swimmer who capped his career with a National Championship in the 400 Medley Relay at the Summer Nationals.

Jamie has operated a comprehensive stroke technique school in Connecticut and will continue to manage that business in addition to his duties at NBAC, and The Athlete Village.

In the Summer of 2009 Barone assisted Coach Bowman at altitude training in Colorado Springs and at the World Championship Trials.
