What does it mean to "press the buoy"? I understand that your lungs act as a buoy in the water, but I don't understand how to press the buoy so that I can get more horizontal in the water. I think I have also heard it called "swimming downhill." Can someone shed some light on this for me? And are there drills to work on pressing the buoy? Thanks,Richard

I believe that "pressing the buoy" is lingo from Total Immersion, and is not really used in the world of competitive swimming. The reality is that body position is key. Get your head down..look straight at the line on the bottom of the pool. Energize your core, and keep your hips up. Your feet will follow. Not sure if this really helps. If your goal is to get on top of the water, and reduce your drag, right on.
