I had no idea what a great role model (and how smart) David Berkoff was. Thanks for putting this together. The only thing missing from the interview was hearing about the "Berkoff Blastoff". I am not a swimming historian, but did Berkoff invent the underwaters that are now key to swimming fast? Races are won underwater these days. Looking back at old footage, it seems like the goal was to get on top of the water and start swimming.
Sorry to bring this up when the interview focused on such an important topic, abuse in swimming, but as a website dedicated to stroke technique and helping people swim faster, I had to bring it up. How about a blog dedicated to swimming "underwater".

Blastoff
I guess I was trying to be cool and not ask him about underwater dolphin kicks since that is what everyone asks him about.
But I should have anyway.
